FITTING OF CARBON BRUSHES
When carbon brushes are replaced on a machine, they should be allowed to run under no load for approximately 20 minutes prior to use. This allows the brushes to bed in. It should be noted that, the running times will be reduced, should the following guide lines not be followed:
| 1st set of brushes | +/– 300 Hours |
| 2nd set of brushes | +/– 150 hours |
| 3rd set of brushes | +/– 75 hours |
| 4th set of brushes | +/– 30 hours |
| 5th set of brushes | +/– 13 hours |
These guidelines are further influenced if the tool is used in an enviroment where it is exposed to abrasive dust. This would shorten the life of brushes.
N.B. Especially on 230mm Angle grinders when chasing.
SERVICING INTERVALS FOR POWER TOOLS
All power tools should be serviced on a regular basis.
Intervals will be determined by the average daily use of the
machine.
The following is only a general guideline:
2 Hours 6 Months 4 Hours 3 Months 6 Hours 2 Months 8 Hours 1-2 Months
